Infodemo is the combination of the words information and demo which together combine to become a demonstration of information. These demonstrations give meaning to data through the use of various sound and visual techniques in an immersive environment to give the audience an understanding of whatever is represented.

The requirement for this exercise into creating an ‘infodemo’ was to display dynamically changing data from the internet within an immersive display in an interesting and meaningful way that would clearly express a message behind the information and allow the audience to respond to the way the data is displayed. The message I decided to present was that of international diversity through a specific genre of music.

The demo takes data from a website:

The song titles, bands and album names are then used as textual data within the demo while the album covers are used as textures and are mapped onto various shapes. The country that the band originates from is found and also used to show the diversity in this style of music.
