In June 2008, the arrival of a new, multi-disciplinary library at the University of Sydney Australia brought with it the opportunity for the creation of an exciting interactive installation that would adorn a central space within the library. The new "SciTech" library amalgamated collections from the Engineering, Science, Architecture Design and Planning faculties and created a location that would certainly challenge the existing conventions of quiet and solemn libraries. As Final-year students undertaking the Design Computing degree, this website aims to document our journey of creating a proposed interactive visualisation that would enhance the SciTech library experience and introduce a modern, unconventional but immersive aspect to the space. Something that was both useful and beautiful. Something we called Bookdrops.
