arcs(); is a fun and interactive news display which was created by Intuition for the ABC centre foyer in Ultimo. It emphasises on world news, and relationships between regions around the world. arcs(); is a unique way to explore news which entertains and informs the user through form and interaction.
The interface allows users to explore news in an interesting and conceptional manner which will provoke users to think about the world around them in new and unconventional ways.
Abstract
The arcs(); interface was created by a group of students from the University of Sydney during their third year of study for a Bachelor of Design Computing. The objective was to create a multi-touch interface which was both technically and conceptually develeped by the team Intuition. The goal of the project was to create a method of reading news articles from a given database in a way which is innovative, intuative and informative.
Intuition is comprised of a group of students from the University of Sydney's faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning. This website is dedicated to the development process and concept of a muti-touch interface which was designed by the group as part of the Information Visualisation Studio to display news items from the ABC in a unique, informative and intuative manner.- 2009
