Constellations is a multi-touch display designed for visitors and employees of the ABC, to be situated within the foyer of the ABC centre, Ultimo. The display will serve as informative entertainment within the foyer; for people walking past, waiting for a client or even just visiting perhaps. The display screen will span over a large section of a wall, anywhere between 3 – 5 metres in length, and about 1 - 2 metres in height. This large interaction space will allow multiple users to interact and engage with the display at any one time. Users will then observe each other experimenting with different interaction methods, and joyously progress through the application.

The application itself allows users to browse through the articles of the vast ABC database, which is linked to a live feed of the most recent news stories as they come in. In its idle state, the twinkling and free flowing nature of the letters will entice people to touch and explore the display. Once engaged, users will be astounded by the visual elements of the display and will begin to explore the news content of the ABC, initially without them even knowing. Soon the users will come to realise the interesting content they are viewing, that being the most recent news, often before it’s even been shown on television. All in all, exploration of Constellations will result in a joyous, informative and celestial multi-touch journey.
