The Auditorium Page

This site is intended to provide a set of raw measurement data for researchers in auditorium acoustics.

The Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Australia
Measurements were taken using a Soundshere omnidirectional source augmented by a low frequency 'sub'.
In addition a B&K calibrated sound power source was used.
Six source positions and 42 receiver positions were used. In each receiver position the source material was captured by a B&K omni-directional microphone on a B&K sound level meter, a Soundfield microphone and either the B&K Head and Torso system or a Kemar binaural head. MLSSA measurements were also made for a selection of positions using the Soundsphere only as the source.

The source material used was; Pink Noise, Swept Tones, Solo Cello and Orchestral segment

How to access the data.
The following page will give you a choice of seats and the source positions for those seats. Select the desired sound source material for that source and receiver position. The wav sound file should download.
